Flying Snakes

A sludge assualt, that is what Flying Snakes from St. Pete are. Fans of of Admiral Angry, Kylesa, Lair of the Minotaur etc. They have bouncy southern riffs but heavy and dissonant parts as well very well rounded. Id love to see this band blow up and expand on their sound. Check them out here.

Focused Direction

Ive come to the decision that, I would like to mainly focus on up and coming bands in the Florida scene and other smaller bands im acquainted with through one way or an other that you should check out. First Im gonna start off with something Ive already touched on.

Cellgraft from Tampa. In your face grind with already a couple full lengths and few eps/demos and two splits I think since forming in 08(?) all available for upload via their blogspot Fans of Maruta, Napalm Death, Rotten Sound, and/or Insect Warfare which have a song of the same name, coincidence. Neither her nor there. Check this band out if you love straight forward grind. If you live in Florida check them out at their upcoming show.

Cellgraft

Outstanding grind. Here is their blogspot

Florida bands you should know about right now.

Maruta Heavy as fuck Grind/Powerviolence from Miami\Other places?

Ninety Minute Reflex

Grinding Death Metal that could have come from the early nineties from Clermont.

Shitstorm
Grimy crusty grind\powerviolence played the way its supposed to be from Gainesville\Miami.

Ulcer This band has been around for a while but havent released anything since 02 this killer Old School Death Metal. They do Florida proud. But apparently they are reactivated so check them out. Ill probably get around to posting some of their albums in the future.

Quarter the Villain
Spastic Tech not unlike Psyopus, Cloacal Kiss and early Arsonists Get all the Girls. From Orlando I believe.

Putrescent Secretancy Technical Death Metal and this shit is superb they touch on everything great about Technical Death Metal. From somewhere in Florida haha.

Thats it for now. Im sure I will be talking more and more about these bands, and so will you. Ill link up some albums upon request.

Funeral Diner - Is Dead

This band was around for ten years and I never heard about them until the latter couple of years, what a shame they are dead. Great emotional screamo/post hardcore.
none the less this is a killer album that touches on everything you want screamo album to. chaos melded with melodies. moments of bloodcurdling screams and devastation then moments of clarity. for fans of saetia, city of caterpiller...

Download Funeral Diner - Is Dead

Alas!

Ive finally broke down and decided to give this a go. There wont be any emotional rambling or gossip, just my thoughts of music and other things I like but mostly music. To start I guess I will hit up some albums that Ive been cranking lately
.
Stargazer - The Scream That Tore the Sky.

Very good Australian Avant Garde Metal band. Touches on Black Metal/Death Metal with Eastern/Psychedelia sprinkled throughout.

Ken Mode -Mennonite

Latest Release from Ken MODE and if you dont know them. You should. A Noisy Rock band from Canada. They have a craft and they do their craft well. That craft is noisy math rock not unlike something you would here on Amphetamine Reptile back in the day. This album focuses mostly on the rumble and feedback of a good rock song. But by no means will you hear this on the radio. Pure angry rock fury but with lots of fun.

Gorod - Process for a New Decline

I just recently checked out Gorod, and I dont know what the fuck I waited for. They have only been around for 5 years and they sound like they have been around for 20. They play a style of Metal that is extremely saturated right now and I think they hit the nail on the head with this style without being boring. They play a brand of Technical Death Metal that slaps you in the face with ferocity and serious tone. The riffs are lightning fast but can slow it down for the right lick or groove. This band isnt reinventing the wheel with this genre but they are definitely giving it much needed upgrade. For fans of Brain Drill, Spawn of Possession, Decrepit Birth, The Faceless etc. etc.

So I hope everyone enjoyed this first bit. Alot more to come.
